Governance: Women task citizenry on enthroning integrity, accountability

Some women involved in social political activism, have stressed the need for citizenry to enthrone integrity, accountability, by electing trusted leaders into various cadre of governance.
Reacting to the outcome of recent Ekiti governorship elections, which the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kayode Fayemi emerged winner, the women under the aegis of Noble Women Movement for Buhari and Osinbajo (NWM4BO) said it was reflection of the yearning for trusted leaders.
A statement issued by its Director of Publicity, Dr. Rachael Ahmadu and made available to journalists in Abuja, quoted the President of the group, Mrs. Mfawa Usani as saying that the people cannot be insulted by politics of stomach infrastructure, hence they came out in their thousands to choose their leader.
Usani who described the election as free and fair, however called on other candidates who stood for the election to support the incoming governor of Ekiti state for the development of the state.
She also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for conducting what she described as one of the freest governorship polls in recent times
According to her, “We are going to deliver the party. We are all prepared as you can see. We have the capacity and the strength to win the 2019 genera election. We cannot be intimidated.
“Our women have our support and we will come out victorious because we have all it takes.”
