An aspirant in the forthcoming Edo Central Senatorial bye- election, Hon. Joseph Ikpea Igiagbe has said that he is in the race because of his intention to use the opportunity to give back to the society.
Hon. Igiagbe who submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday said given his humble background, he knows what the poor masses are going through.
He said he has no intention of using the position for his personal upliftment because he has little needs to worry over.
“I’m in this race to give back to the society. I’m from a very poor background, I tasted poverty but God blessed me. Therefore I will use this position to ensure that the interest of the people are adequately taken care of.
“In our senatorial district, we had issues of security, but since the coming of the government of Sen. Monday Okpebholo, things are getting better. So my intention is to use my position to ensure that laws that will be help the society are enacted.
The Edo Central Senatorial seat became vacant following the election of Sen. Okpebholo as the governor of Edo state.
