FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has flagged off construction of the 15.5 kilometre Pai-Bomani road, in Kwali Area Council, Abuja.
Wike stated that the construction of the road would boost agriculture, facilitating easy transportation of farm produce to the market.
He noted the road was the most touching of all flag off ceremonies he has being doing since Monday, cautioning against delay in issuing certificates for payment as soon as the work is done to fast-tract completion of the project in less than 12 months.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu did not appoint him to allocate land but to improve infrastructure of the Territory both in the city and villages, as every Area Council would be impacted by the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I took the position to support Mr President to improve on the infrastructure of the FCT and that is why everyday our concern is infrastructure, infrastructure, and infrastructure; be it in the city; be it in the rural areas”, he said.
Earlier, Kwali Area Council Chairman, Danladi Chiya, thanked the FCT minister for his support to the Area Councils, especially in infrastructural provision.
Chiya noted that the Councils were delivering some projects because Wike was not interfering with their allocations.
On his part, Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils and Ancillary Matters, Senator David Jimkuta, stated that the road would connect the Area Councils to the City Centre.
He pledged the continued support of the Senate to the FCT Minister’s efforts to transform the Territory and improve livelihood for residents.
