The Northern Christian Religious Leaders Assembly has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), describing his appointment as remarkable and well deserved.
In a statement signed on Thursday by its Secretary-General, Rev. Dr Simon A. S. Dolly, the group said Musa’s emergence was a clear recognition of his exceptional military record.
It noted that the appointment reflected his unwavering dedication to national security and the trust placed in his leadership by the President and Nigerians.
The Assembly said Nigeria was in need of courageous and strategic stewardship in the defence sector, adding that Musa’s appointment had rekindled hope across the country.
NOCRELA commended his contributions to peace and stability, citing his disciplined command and commitment to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity in various leadership roles.
The group expressed confidence that his tenure would strengthen the nation’s security architecture, modernise defence capabilities and improve synergy among security agencies.
“As you take on this noble responsibility, we pray that God grants you wisdom, strength and protection,” the statement added.
The Assembly pledged its full moral support as the minister works towards the peace, unity and defence of the nation.
