A non-political and cultural union of Orlu people, known as ‘Orlu Zurumee Youths’ have expressed regret over the alleged lacklustre attitude of Orlu political leaders to fight against insecurity and destruction of valuable properties in the area.

The Youths blamed the killings and destruction of valuable properties belonging to innocent people of the Orlu zone on the suspected lukewarm attitude of the political leaders of the zone.

The Orlu Zurumee Youths said all efforts made to talk the political bigwigs of Orlu zone into taking action in the fight against insecurity ravaging the zone, proved abortive.

In a communique signed by the secretary general of the organization, Desmond Ugwumba, and made available to journàlists, the youths vowed to throw their weight behind the right candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Imo State, to ensure that insecurity is tackled.

The communique reads “The high level of unemployment in Orlu zone is alarming and we honestly want political leaders and captains of Industries that would assist the youths to earn a living by providing and creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurs among youths to thrive”.

The Youths organization emphasized that the insecurity bedeviling the Orlu zone and other parts of the state can be stopped if the political bigwigs in the zone come together and take action.
