The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said its lost mandate must be recovered from three Governors, with a pledge to resolve the crisis in the party in Edo State.
The Governors who defected from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) include Mr. David Umahi (Ebonyi), Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Mr. Bello Matawalle (Zamfara) States.
The National Chairman of PDP, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu made the assertion at a rally held in his honour on Thursday in Benin City, Edo State
He recalled that it was infighting and division in PDP that made the party to lose the grip of the governorship of the State for over 12 years.
Ayu also urged aggrieved members of the umbrella party to avoid the mistakes of the past not to loose the State.
“We won in Jos North House of Representatives seat, we won in Cross River South Senatorial district. We are on a winning streak and God is behind us.
“If a thief takes your thing and run away, you will pursue him, beat him and take your thing back. They think that it is lost. No. We hope and pray that our new Governor will be sworn-in…We are using him to replace that former Governor…He is gone. Do not be deceived. And all those who went away with our mandate, will go after each one of them.
“We will go after Ayade, we will go after the Governor in Zamfara and we shall take back our stolen mandate. All those who took votes from the party, will all be back.”
