The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa state command, CP Ahmed T Abdullahi, announced the arrest of over 53 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, illegal armed manufacturers, human traffickers and other criminal elements in the state.
CP Abdullahi made the announcement during his maiden press briefing on Thursday, at Police headquarters Dutse, Jigawa state.
He explained that, out of total suspects arrested, three of them were suspected kidnappers that have link with kidnapping of a businessman in Kwaimawa village,Dutse local government area.
According to him, 10 of the suspected were armed robbers, 25 suspected thieves, three suspected motor vehicle thieves and other three suspected mobile phones thieves that are disturbing the state.
He maintained that, others were suspected illegal armed manufacturers in Dutse Kwari village area of Ringim local government.
He added that two suspected human traffickers and seven motorcycle thieves were also arrested at Dutse, Maigatari, and Kazaure local governments respectively.
The CP added that, after the arrest, the command recovered three locally fabricated firearms, four vehicles, N3.6 million, nine Android handsets, vandalized Armored cable wires, 32 cows, five sheep, 261 wraps of dry leaves of Indian hemp, sesame, Millet, ground valued at N450,000 among many other items.
